just 30 minutes drive from Carcassonne and 40 minutes from Narbonne. Both these wonderful cities are steeped in history with many beautiful and interesting places to explore. Lagrasse has something for everyone - bars, restaurants, local artisan shops, local supermarkets and a boulangerie to name but a few. In summer there is a fun 'brocante' where you will pick up all sorts of wonderful and quirky artifacts. There is a market every Saturday in the village square where fresh regional produce can be sampled and purchased. Throughout the year you will find live bands playing in the 8th century Abbey and classical concerts being held in the spectacular church. During August there is an international ‘Banquet du Livres’ situated within the old stone walls of the medieval banqueting hall and in July a world famous music festival that engulfs the entire village. There are of course fireworks and live music to celebrate Bastille Day on the 14th. All these lively and fun things will ensure a typically French atmosphere is found and most definitely enjoyed!
